Three Holiday Crafts to Make With Friends

ecomonster candle making, Hazel Luna

One thing I’m excited about this year is being able to pick up the tradition of a crafty get-together with my girlfriends.  It’s something that I’ve been doing for years and what gave inspiration to my Ecomonster workshops.

The key to stress-free planning and hosting is to see what’s the right fit for your group this year.  If you’re short on time, keep it simple!  If you’re set on a particular craft this year, then set a date in advance to ensure you have enough time to get everything prepped.

Here’s three festive theme examples to spark ideas:

  • Festive ornaments & light refreshments - This is a great last minute idea that you can plan the week of your get-together.  You can make a one stop at local craft store to pick up supplies to paint ornaments or hand-sew felt ornaments.  To keep it simple, avoid meal times so you only need snacks and drinks.

  • Decorating wreaths & potluck - Have everyone bring their own plain wreath and you set out an assortment of items and glue guns to decorate with.  Trader Joe’s for example will have most the supplies you need.

  • Candle workshop & lunch outing - here’s my workshop plug but really just search for a holiday workshop in your town and plan an outing around that.  Always a great idea to get out in the town with your friends while supporting local small businesses.  I host private workshops at your home or help you find a local venue.

Let me know if you have any questions about any of the theme ideas.  Happy to help you with your crafty holiday event.

Cheers!
