Winter Season Update

Lake Merritt water by Patrick Perkins

Hi friends,

Behind the scenes, I had so much going on in February! It was back to back holidays with Tet New Year hosting, Valentine’s workshop, and President’s day (which means toddler reins free day). Plus, I started a new j o b as a cherry on top.

Beginning of the year, I took a look at my goals for ecomonster. The math was quickly not mathing. Happy to say I’m ready to make some real investments in taking ecomonster to the next stage while also preparing for another few years of not making a profit. It’s the reality of relaunching a tiny biz. Any money that you make goes back to the business and to get to a net positive and actual income, it’s a real commitment of time and money.

So I decided it was time to get my toes wet and get a day job to help paint the bigger picture. I’ve been looking for something local and community oriented. I interviewed in January and have been working flexible days all February. Just the pace and opportunity I need to thrive in. It feels right to be contributing to an organization that’s committed to conserving our local wildlife refuge, Lake Merritt. Being at the Lake has been healing for me. I’ve had many moments of feeling like I’m right where I’m meant to be.

So, for the rest of winter season, I have limited availability for private candle workshops. Perfect for a team or friends event.

I’ll be working on fun private labeling and preparing for a new spring workshop. Stay tuned!
